The Berserker Guide - Part One (Early-Midgame)

Introduction
Welcome to the Berserker Guide! This will explain to anyone who is struggling to figure out the "berserk" dungeon class. Throughout this series, I will provide information for gear, weapons, and pets for the following skill levels: early-midgame, midgame, mid-lategame, and endgame. Quick disclaimer, I will be comparing this to the other popular dungeon class: mage. This is part one of this guide.

What is this Class?
The berserk class focuses on one-to-one combat. Think of everything you are doing as bringing the pain to one enemy at a time. Of course, with high health mobs, such as the Watcher's minions and the Livid boss, you can always split your damage between them. However, unlike mage, clearing rooms should be using clearing abilities like the "Heat Seeking Rose" ability on the Flower of Truth, but also running up to a mob, killing it, and going to the next one.

Benefits
Unlike the mage class, you'll have a lot of health and defense, and surviving will be quite easy. You also will deal a lot of damage. In my late-endgame setup, I was able to do 100,000 damage to a non-dungeon mob! Also, this class is a lot easier to master than mage is. There's no need to worry about running out of mana!

Disadvantages
Unlike the mage class, you will not be able to deal a lot of damage to large areas of mobs. It will take a lot longer to clear rooms. It'll also be a lot harder to split your damage. Mage class makes that simple with area of effect.

LOADOUT
For early-midgame, you should have around five and a half million coins to start out. With the rising and falling auction prices, this is subject to change, but that is a rough estimate of where you should start. Quick disclaimer, I do not recommend killing dragons to get the dragon loot, just buy it from the Auction House (with the exception of an Ironman profile).

Gear: One of the simplest and best early setups is Strong Dragon armor. If possible, grind your spider slayer up to level four, and buy a Tarantula Helmet. The Strong Dragon Helmet is about the same price as a Tarantula Helmet. This is the most expensive part of the loadout because each piece costs around 800,000 coins, totaling up to around 3,200,000 coins.

Weaponry: Keep an Aspect of the Dragons handy. It's a decently strong weapon, dealing around 30,000 damage with the gear I have provided. Prices for this item vary, but they are around 1,700,000 coins on average.

Pet: The best option that I can think of for early-midgame survivability would be a rare blue whale pet. This will cost on average about 175,000 coins for level one. This pet will provide defense. The higher the level is, the more defense you will get. If you want the most out of this, focus on maximizing your health. If you can afford it, and you would like to, buy a higher level blue whale.

UPGRADES AND ADDONS

Gear:

A way better set would be Zombie Soldier armor. GET THIS SET ASAP. This is so much better than Strong Dragon armor! It give a lot of health and defense, and with the Blue Whale pet, it won't be that hard to survive. Also, it's so much cheaper than Strong Dragon armor! You can buy all of this gear at the Auction House for only around 100,000 coins, or you can get it from killing Zombie Soldiers in dungeons. However, you need to be Catacombs level 9 to wear Zombie Soldier armor, so you cannot use this set right away. Get to Catacombs level 9 in your Strong armor, and you should be good to go.

A set better than Zombie Soldier that you could consider is Adaptive armor. However, this is not a good choice until you get used to dungeons and become more experienced. The armor requires you to have defeated The Professor in Floor 3 of the Catacombs. There is no Catacombs level requirement, but it is recommended to level up your Catacombs level before using it. This is because of the full set bonus: Efficient Training. "Every 5 Catacombs levels, this armor piece gains +2% stats." I recommend reaching Catacombs 15 before using this armor on higher floors. It’s also quite expensive, with the full set costing about 6,000,000 coins. This is closer to Shadow Assassin armor than an early-midgame set! However, when you meet the criteria, this armor set is very strong, and it is cheaper than midgame sets.

Weaponry: A very good replacement for the Aspect of the Dragons is the Spirit Sword. It deals solid critical damage and strength, meaning good damage, and the ability is great too, because there are lots of undead mobs in dungeons. "Deals +2% to undead monsters for every 1% of your missing health." It's only a bit more expensive than an Aspect of the Dragons at around 2,000,000 coins, which is always good. However, you need to have defeated Thorn in Floor 4 of the Catacombs. But, you could always pay for a dungeon carry.

Something that you can add on to this is the Super Cleaver. It does area of effect damage, meaning that it will also hit mobs that are nearby. It only costs 80,000 coins if you buy it from Ophelia, and there are no requirements to use it. Very solid choice in boss fights like Thorn and rooms with lots of enemies in a group.

Pet: One of the best pets that you can buy for early-midgame loadouts is a Griffin pet. However, it needs to be uncommon for it to be very useful! It gives really good stats for damage, and the ability grants Regeneration 5 and Strength 7 at all times! Unfortunately, it costs about 1,700,000 coins on the Auction House. But, the cost is well worth it. Only buy this pet if you can survive without a Blue Whale.

You've reached the end of the guide! Thank you for reading! So far, this is the only guide that exists. I am working on the other ones! I will leave links here one they are done. Good luck! (Please leave feedback if this was helpful.)
