Proviable®-Forte Kit contains two products to help support intestinal health in dogs and cats. Proviable®-Forte Capsules help reestablish healthy intestinal flora while the additional Proviable®-KP Paste contains ingredients to help firm stools. Both formulations contain probiotics and prebiotics providing a synbiotic approach to therapy which encourages growth of the Proviable®-Forte beneficial microorganisms within the intestinal tract.

Usage
Give paste and capsules by mouth as directed by your veterinarian. Paste and capsules should be started on the same day.
Manufacturer Dosing Recommendations Proviable®-KP Paste
Give 2 to 3 times daily for the following weight ranges:
Cats: 1 ml
Dogs: 1-2 ml
Dogs 21-50 lbs: 3-4 ml
Dogs >50 lbs: 5 ml
The paste is for short term use and given for 48 to 72 hours via a easy to use graduated tube.

Side Effects
Proviable®-Forte Kits have no known serious side-effects. If your pet is using this medication for the first time please watch for any allergic reactions that might occur, if your pet develops a rash, etc call you veterinarian immediately. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The Proviable®-Forte Capsules should not be given at the same time as antibiotic medications for full effectiveness of the probiotics; therefore it is best to separate the administration times by 1-2 hours. Probiotics should be administered based on the recommendation of your veterinarian. They are not recommended for pets that are critically ill or that have a suppressed immune system, or in animals that are severely dehydrated or vomiting.
The kaolin and pectin in the Proviable®-KP Paste could delay absorption of some medications, so the administration of the paste should be separated by 1-2 hours from other medications. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Cautions
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at room temperature no to exceed 77°F. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
