The Q60 is available with two different tunes of a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6. It delivers 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque in Pure and Luxe trims and 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque in the Red Sport 400 trim. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels where a shorter final drive ratio in the Red Sport 400 features allows the engine to rev faster. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option and is available on all trims.

The Pure and Luxe RWD trims earn an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 combined. Impressively, the AWD system costs only one mpg point on the highway rating. The Red Sport 400’s increase downforce and rolling resistance (and added power) arrive without any loss to the standard powertrain’s combined rating of 22 but the AWD system decreased that to 21.

The four-passenger Q60 rides on a 112-inch wheelbase and stretches to 184.4 inches, which is about three inches shorter than a BMW 4-Series. While front passengers are afforded an adequate 37.4 inches of headroom, the rear passengers have significantly less space than in the BMW, and cargo volume is also comparatively less at 8.7 cubic feet. The standard folding rear seatback opens up additional capacity for long items.

The 2021 Q60 receives added standard safety equipment to each trim level, however, the full suite of assist features requires selecting an optional package on the top-tier trim.

The Pure trim is equipped with automatic collision notification and rain-sensing wipers while the Luxe trim includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, reverse collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and blind-spot detection.

The final piece of the puzzle, lane keep assist with lane centering, is available with the Red Sport 400’s ProActive package which also adds high-beam assist. The Q60 has not yet been rated by NHTSA or the IIHS.

Following last year’s infotainment technology updates, the Q60 continues on with a standard dual-screen vertical display arrangement that measures eight-inches for the upper and seven-inches for the lower and is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, and Bluetooth.

The Q60 also includes standard Wi-Fi with a six-month trial and USB-A and USB-C ports up front.

The entry-level Pure trim is equipped with premium features such as full LED headlights, fog lights, and taillights, 19-inch wheels, body-colored heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, proximity entry, and door handle courtesy lights.

Interior features are aligned with its base trim status with the highlights being leatherette seating, eight-way power front seats, dual-zone climate control, and brushed aluminum trim.

The Luxe trim is significantly more expensive than the Pure trim and it includes many upgrades. The seats are wrapped in leather and gain additional lumbar and bolster adjustment, a moonroof is installed, the seats and steering wheel are heated, and a 13-speaker Bose Performance Series Audio system replaces the Pure trim’s six-speaker unit.

An advanced climate control system with air cleaning technology, navigation, Sirius XM Traffic, remote engine start, and power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors are included in the Essential Package for $2,050.

The Red Sport trim gains a sportier exterior and interior theme with a black-painted grille, mirrors, and exterior trim, standard sport seats, and paddle shifters. In addition to the powertrain enhancements, the chassis sees larger and more powerful brakes (with painted calipers), 20-inch wheels, and an adaptive suspension.

The only available options are adaptive headlights and adaptive steering which are included in the ProActive Package which also adds safety features and costs $1,700.
